Meet Our Principal
Mrs. Joyce
Milam
Hello, Burden Families!
My name is Joyce Milam, and I am truly honored to serve as the Principal of Bill Burden Elementary.
I am proud to be a lifelong Panther—I bleed purple! I have been part of the Liberty Hill ISD community since 2nd grade and am a graduate of Liberty Hill High School. I earned my Bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies from Tarleton State University and later obtained my Master’s degree in Educational Administration from Lamar University.
With over 20 years in education, I have had the privilege of serving students and families in a variety of roles, including Kindergarten and 3rd grade teacher, Behavior Interventionist, and Assistant Principal at BBE for four years. Each of these experiences has strengthened my passion for supporting students and building a positive school community.
Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends. My husband, Zack, and I are proud parents to two wonderful children, Blaze and Marlee. Our home is also filled with energy and love from our three adorable dogs!
At BBE, I strongly believe in the power of partnership. By working together, we can create a safe, nurturing, and inspiring environment where every child feels valued and empowered to succeed. Please know that my door is always open—I look forward to working alongside you to make this a fantastic year for our students
