Meet our Principal

Mrs. Tanya Lambert

Mrs. Tanya Lambert

I grew up in Royse City, Texas, about 35 miles northeast of Dallas. Following high school, I attended Tarleton State University where I received a Bachelor of Science degree in Interdisciplinary Studies and later a Master of Education degree in Counseling. Through the years, I have taught 1st grade, worked as a reading and math specialist, and served as a school counselor before becoming an assistant principal in 2015 at Miss May Vernon Elementary School in Fate, Texas. The move to the Austin area brought my family to Liberty Hill, which has quickly become our home.

I am the mom of four beautiful children, Jacob, Olivia, Ella, and Ava. My husband, Michael, and I love to spend time outdoors and follow our kids, and all the Liberty Hill sports teams, all over the state. Mission work is a passion for me and my family. My daughters and I have travelled to Haiti to serve a school and church in Chambellan.

I'm thrilled to be the principal of Bill Burden Elementary, and I love being a Panther!

Meet our Assistant Principals

Mrs. Christina Gamez

Mrs. Christina Gamez

Welcome to Bill Burden Elementary School!  I am so happy to be serving our community in the capacity of Assistant Principal. It is my pleasure to help lead Burden students forward in their academic, social, and emotional goals.

My first teaching job was at Burden in 2012, and then I moved to help open Rancho Sienna in 2017. In 2020, I moved to open Santa Rita Elementary, where I taught and completed my Admin internship.

I graduated from Texas A&M University and received my masters from Lamar University. I have an amazing husband named Nick, who is a youth/young adults pastor at our church in North Austin, and we have 2 sons, Samuel and Levi.

I cannot wait to get to know each of you and learn more about your families this year. I am so blessed to join this amazing community and grow with you this year!

Hello, Burden Families! My name is Joyce Milam. I am incredibly honored to serve as your Assistant Principal this year and look forward to an amazing school year.

I am pretty much a life-long PANTHER. Let's just say I bleed purple! I have attended LHISD since I was in the 2nd grade, and I am a graduate of LH High School! I left for a short period while attending Tarleton State University in Stephenville, where I received my Bachelor's degree in Intradisciplinary Studies. I am starting my 20th year in education, and I have taught Kindergarten, 3rd grade, and served as BBE's Behavior Interventionist in the past. I recently obtained my Master's degree in Education Administration from Lamar University.

When I am not at school, I love spending time with my family and friends. My husband Zack and I have two wonderful children, Blaze and Marlee. We also have two sweet labs and a weenie dog.

I genuinely believe that our partnership is incredibly important at BBE. Together we ensure that every child is loved, honored, and challenged each and every day!
